Our Mission
ELFEC’s mission is threefold:

* encouraging generous giving
* prudently investing money entrusted to us
* granting money to faith-based charities that respond creatively and effectively to God's call to ministry.

Our purpose, as stated formally in our corporate Articles, is:

“to operate exclusively as a charity to support and further the life, work and
mission of the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, its congregations and affiliated institutions, and other faith-based organizations with similar purposes, which are qualified donees within the meaning of section 248(1) of the Income Tax Act.”
About ELFEC
ELFEC is a charitable foundation that assists both individuals and organizations. "Growing generosity" is both our motto and our mandate. By encouraging generosity to grow, we also create opportunities for growth in ministry.

We help individuals, couples and families to make planned gifts to the charity of their choice. We encourage individuals to establish endowment funds with ELFEC to benefit their congregation or another ministry.

Faith-based congregations and organizations can create an endowment or managed fund under ELFEC's care. With professional management and careful oversight, we exercise stewardship over a large pool of funds. The resulting investment income is granted to faith-based charities to enable them to carry out their unique ministry.Read more
