First Mennonite Church is a vibrant, warm, inter-generational, multi-cultural and bilingual congregation. Looking forward to a time when people from all nations will join together, and stream towards God’s holy mountain (Isaiah 2:2), we strive to be a community that works at peace, reconciliation and meaningful friendship across boundaries of language and culture.
In our vision statement, we’ve recognized that we are “Called to be God’s people of healing and hope.” We’ve identified 4 primary ways we’re working at this. We aim:
to be strengthened at our core (Ephesians 3:16)
to receive the stranger with generosity (Matthew 25:31-43)
to attract and invite people to a life of faith in Christ (Matthew 28:19-20)
to engage in the task of reconciliation in the world (2 Corinthians 5:18)

All this means that, at FMC, we hope you’ll find yourself at home among a welcoming, caring, group of people, who come from diverse cultural, racial, socio-economic and religious backgrounds, including many who did not have a Mennonite upbringing.
