Description
Join us as we transport audiences to the streets of Morocco with the Canadian premiere of Näss (‘people’ in Arabic) from choreographer Fouad Boussouf, as part of the international contemporary dance series Torque. Näss explores and interprets the cross-cultural influences of contemporary and traditional North African dance, urban hip hop and breakdance. A mystical and universal piece, performed by a cast of seven male dancers, Näss transfixes with its hypnotic and ritualistic rhythms, intense athleticism and acrobatic feats danced to a powerful score by Roman Bestion, Marion Castor and Boussouf.
