Description

Guelph Public Library helps build a thriving community every single day – ensuring free, inclusive, and equitable access to lifelong learning opportunities for all that enrich, improve, and transform lives. Open to everyone, GPL welcomes people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and socioeconomic status’ – strengthening people and neighbourhoods by providing endless ways for community members to explore the world, enhance their well-being, and connect with others and important resources.
Building on historic roots, while evolving services to support a growing and changing community, the GPL system is the most-used public facility in Guelph with its main library, 5 branches, and Bookmobile service – attested to by the 1000’s of people who use our services each day. We offer accessible resources, programming, technologies, and services in a variety of formats that educate, engage, and entertain, and access to collections and tools that few in the community could afford on their own.
Public funding supports our library system, while private gifts help us thrive. We rely on donors to enable the creation of life-changing programs, services, spaces, and collections that wouldn’t otherwise be possible. These gifts shape the lives of kids, adults, seniors, and families across our community – inspiring Guelphites to reach their greatest potential, improving quality of life in our community, and ensuring access and inclusion to crucial programming, technologies, services, and resources for everyone – creating the kind of change that makes our world shine more brightly.
