IMPACT MALAWI runs four Nursery Schools which are called Early Childhood Development centres. Each centre has a large school building, a kitchen, toilets for girls and boys and staff and a well specifically designated for the school. Over 500 children attend these schools from more than 30 village communities in the area. Each of the IMPACT MALAWI Nursery Schools runs a daily feeding program. All of the children in attendance receive a bowl of hot porridge fortified with ground nuts. Women from the surrounding villages volunteer to cook, serve, and clean up the daily meal.
IMPACT MALAWI has a program to encourage and teach villagers to build “rocket stoves”. The rocket stove is easily made and uses much less wood and creates much less smoke, therefore making it safer and more economical for the village families. Impact Malawi is educating villagers on the importance of rocket stoves and teaching people in the villages how to make them.
IMPACT MALAWI provides safe drinking water to thousands of children and adults. We hired a civil works engineer with expertise in well work who has deepened and fitted the numerous open wells in our communities with AfriDev pumps.
