Studio Theater Perth is a community theatre made up of non-professional performers, producers, directors and technical support personnel. Our goal is to provide experiences that enrich people’s lives. We present high quality performing arts programs that entertain and educate.
 
We are known for presenting community theatre experiences of this highest quality. There are two keys to building and maintaining this reputation. The first is the quality of the performances and the second is the quality of the venue.
 
Productions at the Studio Theatre are some of the most “professional” community theatre productions around. Thousands of volunteer hours are invested to produce each performance and hundreds of individuals are involved. The most obvious contributions are those of the dedicated and talented actors, directors, producers and stage managers who prepare for months before the actual lights go up on a performance. And once the curtain goes up, it is a pleasure to see the efforts of the set designers, builders, painters and dressers as well as costume designers and props masters. Visiting the theatre so comfortable and easy, it’s sometimes easy to overlook all the work by the front-of-house volunteers who handle everything from box office to concessions to safety. Then there are those who work behind the scenes: the promotions team and the board members. It takes all of these individuals giving their very best and working together to create the magical performances we all enjoy.
 
The second contributing factor to the overall quality of the experience is our comfortable and modern venue. Soft and roomy theater seating, the latest technology screen and projector, and excellent sound enhance both live and filmed presentations. And, performances are made accessible by the elevator and hearing assistance equipment. We are fortunate to have a permanent home with all of these amenities. Unfortunately, we do not own it and it is not subsidized by the government as with some other theatres. We lease the space.Read more
