The Art Gallery strives to be a creative destination for all residents and visitors to Thunder Bay.  As a not-for-profit public art gallery, we are guided by our mandate to exhibit, collect, and interpret visual art with a particular focus on contemporary work by Canadian Indigenous and Northwestern Ontario artists.
Every year, the Art Gallery:

Hosts about 20 exhibitions of artistic and educational value, organized by the Gallery or borrowed from other institutions.
Welcomes 20,000 visitors, both residents and visitors to our community.
Invites artists from the city and region to exhibit, speak about their work, and share their creative skills through a range of engagement activities.
Offers school children from Grades 2 to 12 early experience of the visual arts through our popular school tour/workshop program and our virtual tours.
Creates opportunities for art making for people of all ages and abilities.
Provides creative programming – both in the Gallery and in community settings – to engage youth, adults facing addiction challenges, and post-secondary students in visual art, education, and ESL programs.
Collaborates with community organizations serving people of Indigenous heritage to make our exhibitions and events accessible.

The future promises to be even more inspiring for Art Gallery visitors.
