Description
Through 5 sessions of drumming and singing, participants touch on the history of Afro Indigenous Colombian music and how it continues to be revitalized. This practical, interactive, hands-on set of workshops welcomes youth participants of various musical skills. Participants will gain basic knowledge on traditional percussion instruments and their respective musical genres within Latin American and Caribbean popular music, specifically Colombia. Toronto History Museums delivers a series of programs from November 1, 2023, to January 8, 2024, designed to embrace the spirit of light, love, joy and celebration through light-based public art , music, workshops, food, culture, storytelling, and events as part of the Lots of Light programming.
