Description
U of T's Centre for Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies invites you to The Trials written by Dawn King directed by Andrew Kushnir. This year’s timely production about the climate crisis is a Canadian premiere and Susan Smith Blackburn Prize finalist from the UK. Set in the near future, The Trials asks: what does eco-justice look like in the hands of young judges and jurors who have inherited a planet-beyond-repair? Playwright Dawn King’s dynamic ensemble piece puts young people at the helm of a global reckoning, prosecuting our current era for its role in the climate emergency — and not just the “super-polluters” one might expect.
