About MISSISSAUGA ARTS COUNCIL
The Mississauga Arts Council is dedicated to enabling the growth of the arts by creating opportunity and connection between artists and residents in Mississauga and beyond. Celebrating our milestone 40th anniversary this year, The Mississauga Arts Council is a registered charity, dedicated to accelerating progress toward the attainment of our Vision of Mississauga, as a vibrant cultural community where arts and culture thrive! Our mission is to empower the Arts Economy by: Creating more opportunities & capacity; Connecting artists to audiences and each other; and Celebrating artist’s achievements.

MAC’s staff of 5 currently represents over 500 individual artists, arts organizations, and related business allies. In 2019, 237 MAC members were featured at various events, MAC paid 125 Artists and held 331 meetings with artists, creatives, and various groups.  MAC events were enjoyed by close to 30,000 residents and another 120,000 people witnessed their performances in festivals produced by MAC member organizations. 2020 saw us pivot to more digital and online programming to continue serving the interests of the Arts Community in our city. We look forward to the return of in-person events when it is safe to do so in 2022.
MAC was established in 1981 by City Resolution, and a non-profit registered charity governed by a Board of Directors.
MAC aims to create a Mississauga that is a vibrant, creative, cultural community where arts and culture thrive.
