The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is a lay Catholic organization whose mission is:  To live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy.
We strive to assist the "hidden poor" here in Georgina. These are people who are just getting by day-to-day on limited funds and facing increasing costs of living. It only takes one set-back,  such as an illness, an injury at work, a car that breaks down, or any other financial crisis that can send them into a downward spiral. This can then lead to arrears in rental or mortgage payments, arrears in utility bills, or even a lack of funds for basic needs such as food and transportation. Clients usually come to us when they have reached their breaking point, sometimes at the point of eviction or utility disconnection.
Donations such as yours give us the ability to offer them a way out of their crisis and get back on their feet.
