World Skills is an initiative of the LASI (Local Agencies Serving Immigrants) Coalition and was created  to allow agencies to respond strategically to the need for employment support for newcomers in Ottawa.
World Skills opened its doors to employment-seeking immigrants in 1997, with a staff of one and today World Skills employs a staff of 30. It offers assistance to more than 2,500 clients annually and works with over 100 local employers to match international talent to their recuitment needs.
