Description
The Toronto Holocaust Museum and the Toronto Jewish Film Foundation present a screening of the new documentary, Nathan-ism (2023, English, 79 minutes). Official Selection, Hot Docs Festival At the end of the Second World War, Nathan Hilu, the son of Syrian Jewish immigrants, received a life-changing assignment from the U.S. Army to guard the top Nazi war criminals at the Nuremberg trials. This experience fuelled a lifetime of artistic inspiration for Nathan, who spent the next 70 years obsessively creating a visual narrative from his memories. But what happens when those memories take on a life of their own? Director Elan Golod will join us remotely for a Q&A following the screening.
